As a former print military journalist, it's hard to decide what stories to share. There are so many great stories out there, and I want to share as many of them as I can. In this premier issue of the newsletter, I wanted to share news about the war in Ukraine. It appears to have fallen off the front page of the news.
Since I read stories from both sides of the aisle, you'll find stories from the mainstream press on Google News as well as news from the Russian press. US to announce new $2.3 billion military aid package for Ukraine
“This package under presidential drawdown authority will provide new air defense interceptors, anti-tank weapons, and other critical munitions from US inventories,” Austin said in a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. “It will also enable the United States to procure more Patriot and NASAMs air defense interceptors, which will be provided on an accelerated timeline by the resequencing of deliveries for some foreign military sales.”

US military heightens the security alert at European bases due to a combination of threats
USAREUR, the European Command for the U.S. Army, raised the threat level to Charlie. This is the second highest threat level after Delta and usually means there are multiple threats including threats of terrorism. The Pentagon didn't say if there were similar threats to U.S. military personnel in places like the Middle East, Africa, or the Pacific.
