There really isn't much difference between starting a business for civilians than it is for veterans. Unless you plan to become a government contractor, most of the tasks you will do in your business will be the same. Often you will have the advantage of having a network of fellow veterans you can connect to in order to ask for help. You'll also have access to resources that civilians don't. Veterans in other countries may not have that option. That's why it's crucial we connect with veterans across the world to help one another.
When starting your business, regardless of what type of business it is, I highly recommend you take the time to build an email list. If you own a website, the likelihood of visitors returning is only about two percent. An email list gives you an asset you own, and it allows you to build a relationship with those on your list so that they will buy from you.
No matter how great your product or list, it won't make any difference if you don't market. Marketing allows you to get your products or services into the hands of those who want to buy what you have to sell.
